What is memory?
- Memory is like a computer software. Our memory is to keep, protect and memorise some information and experience.
What is brain?
- Brain is an organ. It like a computer hardware.
SIDES OF BRAIN
~ Brain is divided into two parts which are left and right. It play a main role in our life.
MEMORY
~ There are three different kinds of memory:

- SENSORY MEMORY (SM)
~ Sensory memory is a storage of temporary information by using our five senses.
- SHORT-TERM MEMORY (STM)
~ STM is a process that information can receive and keep between 30 seconds to 24 hours.
~ It is because it only have limited space in the memory.
- LONG-TERM MEMORY (LTM)
~ LTM is something that we can remember for a lifetime.
~ It based on someone's ability to recall it.

MEMORY STRATEGIES
- Massed practice (not good) - cramming, involves studying all the materials at once time.
- Spaced practice (good, recommended) - taking breaks between learning sessions allow you to think and organize the info.
- Break reading material down for some period of time e.g. 2 chapters per day.
- Rehearsal - repeat the info many times.

~ Important during reading, listening and studying.
Causes Of Poor Concentration :
- Lack of attention
- Lack of interest
- Lack of motivation
- Distraction from others
- Uncomfortable environment

TIPS TO IMPROVE MEMORY
~ The tips to improve our memory are called SQ3R stands for survey, question, read, recite & review.
1) Survey
- Do observation roughly on all chapter that we have studied.
2) Question
- Create question on each chapter.
3) Read
- Try to find the answer of your question created by reading the chapter.
4) Recite
- Simplified all notes that you have and try to do your own notes to make you more understand and easier to memorise.
5) Review
- Do revision to make sure the inputs are categorised to long-term memory.
